Hip Therapeutics: The Definitive Guide to Woke Hips

September 29, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm EDT

Paradigms are breaking down across both society and the world of yoga. Along the way we are finding that “open hips” aren’t all they are cracked up to be.

Your yoga practice should sustain both you AND your hips. This workshop will help you break through the noise and scattered opinions around “hip opening”, ask the question “alignment for whom?!”, discuss smart linking of standing poses, and other tricks of the trade to truly keep your hips healthy.

Learn to re-interpret yoga poses for hip harmony using modern movement science

You’ll gain x-ray like vision into the basic anatomy of the hips, how hips function on and off the mat, and what it means to have your hips on axis (and how to keep them that way). Learn strategies to decrease pinching, snapping and soreness around the hips and what to do when your hips simply need rest.

Perfect for anyone wanting to stay woke…in their hips.

This workshop is open to all levels, and will offer special pointers for yoga teachers. Registered Yoga Teachers who complete this workshop are eligible for 3 hours of Yoga Alliance-approved CEU contact hours.

Instructor: Your teacher, Ariele, is a practicing Doctor of Physical Therapy, a long time yoga teacher and anatomy of yoga instructor, as well as founder of Yoga Anatomy Academy.
