Sustainable Spine Therapeutics: Stira & Sukha

September 29, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm EDT

Join Yoga Anatomy Academy founder and physical therapist, Dr. Ariele Foster, for an experiential anatomy-based yoga therapeutics workshop to re-imagine your relationship with your spine.

Enjoy a spectrum of poses, modified for their therapeutic qualities, that shine light into:

the 8 movements of the spine,

how to assure active (not passive) spinal movement in your asana practice,

why knowing your neutral spine is important (but isn’t everything),

the importance of lumbopelvic stability,

understanding neural tension,

and how the words we use to describe our bodies can change our physical capacity.

You’ll practice palpation to understand bony and other anatomic landmarks, discover the most luxurious savasana position in the whole wide world, and walk away with new freedom in your body and your teaching and keep your practice sustainable, and your spine supple.

This workshop is open to all levels, and will offer special pointers for yoga teachers. Registered Yoga Teachers who complete this workshop are eligible for 3 hours of Yoga Alliance-approved CEU contact hours.

Instructor: Your teacher, Ariele, is a practicing Doctor of Physical Therapy, a long time yoga teacher and anatomy of yoga instructor, as well as founder of Yoga Anatomy Academy.
