Way of the Happy Hips Online Course – COMING SOON

Hip therapeutics, but focused on strength. Learn the science of hip stability and how it relates to mobility and flexibility in yoga. Understand what excess repetition of forward folds is doing to our hip joints, and how we can do better on the yoga mat.

– Coming soon! –

Hip opening, instructions to “soften glutes”, and repetitive moves within yoga asana — all in the context of sedentary jobs or societies — create wear and tear and instability in our hips. Yoga practitioners need to replace outdated beliefs about our hips before we end up in line for hip replacements.

This course teaches powerful, strengthening moves that stabilize your hips within yoga asana and add complimentary movements to asana.

Chairs and sitting are not going away any time soon. Learn to care for your hips so they will be there for you the rest of your life.

What you’ll find in this course:

This hip stabilizing online course offers 6+ hours of movement and anatomy education, guided hip strengthening and myofascial release and lots of knowledge fundamental to healthy hips. (See the full curriculum here).

  • 3+ hours of professionally filmed video (thanks to Unchained Stories)
  • 2 hours of downloadable audio from Dr. Foster’s Posterior Chain Awakening Workshop
  • 2 downloadable PDFs, and educational text accompanying each video
  • Final quiz to test your knowledge and Certificate of Completion for CEUs

What makes this course unique:

Your instructor, Dr Ariele Foster, PT, DPT, E-RYT 500(+) has a unique perspective on hip strengthening after she herself needed surgery to correct hip instability – likely brought on by asana.

Ariele is also a yoga teacher and movement educator of over 20 years and a practicing Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Yoga blocks may also be fashioned out of household items like stacks of books.

Who is the Instructor?

Can I use this course as a substitute for physical therapy?

This is a tricky question. Many of the techniques are not just physio-approved, but are commonly issued as part of a physical therapy home exercise program.

However, physical therapy is a licensed profession, and physical therapists (physiotherapists outside of the US) provide individual evaluation for your unique situation. Nothing replaces that. So we suggest: don’t shortchange yourself and skip PT.

Take this course AND see a physio.

May I pay with my FSA / HSA Card for this course?

Yes, but your enrollment will be manual and may take up to 72 hours. Please email info@yogaanatomyacademy.com with your request to enroll in this way.
