What makes this course unique:
Your instructor, Dr Ariele Foster, has a unique perspective on fascia as a yoga teacher and movement educator of 20 years and a practicing Doctor of Physical Therapy. While you experience self-massage, she explains the latest knowledge and nuance on the science of fascia and optimal movement.
What does myofascial release do for me?
Another way to describe myofascial release is self-massage. Just like after a good massage, we hope you enjoy a lightness, freedom and sense of renewal in your body. You may also notice improved flexibility or mobility, and reduction of pain.
What items will I need to buy?
This course opens with an introduction to the vast world of tools for myofascial release. You do not need to buy all of them or any of them, but you will get an idea if some tools are tempting enough to be worth the investment.
In most cases, you can complete this course with household items like tennis or lacrosse balls, a rolling pin or a water bottle wrapped in a towel. If you want to get the good stuff, we recommend RAD products.
Who is this course for? Do I have to be a yoga teacher?
This course is for everybody. No previous experience is required. ALL BODIES / ALL AGES ARE WELCOME, and no yoga experience is required. Some positions require ability to lie on your back or on your abdomen.
Will I get continuing education credit?
YES! 6 CEU hours are available (downloadable certificate at the completion of the course) for Yoga Alliance-registered teachers and Yoga Therapists through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Who is the Instructor?
Your teacher, Ariele, is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, founder of YogaAnatomyAcademy.com, a long time yoga teacher, creator of the Yoga Journal online course Fascia Release for Yoga, and an advocate for depth and quality in yoga practice and instruction. For more information on Ariele, see http://sacredsourceyoga.com/ or https://yogaanatomyacademy.com
What makes this course different from Fascia Release for Yoga with Yoga Journal?
The course “Fascia Release for Yoga”, also taught by Dr. Ariele Foster and filmed by Yoga Journal, is a fantastic course. It’s primary aim is pairing fascia release with yoga poses, many of which require substantial mobility, and the fascia release helps the yogi to achieve it.
This course, Way of the Happy Fascia, does not contain much in the way of yoga poses. It focuses comprehensively on how to perform fascia release for the whole body. The goal? To feel good. It’s not about getting deeper into yoga poses. It also covers more of the tools, the science and history of fascia release. This course contains more of the therapeutic tips and techniques of fascia release.
May I pay with my FSA / HSA Card for this course?
Yes. If you run into any challenges, please email info@yogaanatomyacademy.com with your request to enroll in this way.
